As we drove along the streets of damaged parts of Texas, in some ways we felt like we were in a war zone: damage along every road and a feeling of tension and uncertainty in the air as many homeowners wondered and worried about the future of their homes and community. As mentioned in previous posts, it was evident that some claims had been processed and roofs replaced, while others still waited for damage to be cleaned up and work to be done.
Here are two aerial views of a city in the Rockport, Aransas area. The second highlights damaged roofs awaiting repairs in red and debris lining the streets and yards in yellow.
We Salute Those Who Are There To Help
In the midst of the damage and devastation, one of the heartwarming things about our experience in Texas was seeing communities comes together to help each other recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Thank goodness for relief efforts, both organized and unorganized, and the many insurance and relief professionals working tirelessly to bring comfort and to help make people’s lives whole again.
